Learning Polyrythms

This flash player application is created to save effort at the time of performing a polyrythm in the classroom with the aid of a projector. Roll over the numbers and you will perform each of the individual rythms.Flash Player required.

Trio with scrolled skeleton

It is an image to sound proposal. Music structure, over which scenes are formed and suggested, is organized in four pairs of specific-caotic excerpts.

Moving images are constructed by combining the program music sequencer, excel program with scrolling, capture image program and video editor.

Es una propuesta que añade imágenes a una música previa. La estructura musical, sobre la que se forman y sugieren las imagenes, es en tres binomios de fragmentos organizados-caóticos.

Las imágenes moviles están formadas con el propio Secuenciador, Excel (con scrolling), capturador de video y el editor de vídeo.

Uncertain Sounds

These are a serie of videos around a fixed idea: Unlikely sounds. Sound takes part when It is a disruption in the air perceived through the hearing and It is translated into something real in the brain. The question is... What happens If something fail in this chain of events?.

We will see three videos:

- Fetus dream

- The Lonely Mars Rover

- Microscopic chat

Esta serie de videos pretenden recrear el sonido allí donde en teoría no existe. O más propiamente: recrear el sonido donde difícilmente el ser humano lo ha registrado jamás.

Se trata pues no de una representación, o de un ejercicio más o menos realista, sino más bien un ejercicio especulativo, una invención. No pretende ser un ejercicio de rigor científico, más bien un divertimento electrónico de suposición.

Para escuchar bien todos los detalles del sonido, se recomienda bien cascos, bien altavoces externos.

Fetus dream

It is well known that the fetus perceives the sound cushioned in the womb. It is filtered sound to avoid causing any damage over the weak eardrum. But... What does he hear inside this warmish place? It is supoussed that he mainly hears the voice of the mom mixed with sounds coming from outside...

Here we will hear voice simulation , different kinds of "doppler effect" car sounds, see waves ... and finaly real sounds once he suddenly wakes up... Just keep in mind: All sounds are designed with MIDI.

Mucho se ha escrito de aquello que el feto percibe en la cálida placidez del seno materno. De ello, evidentemente no hay registros sonoros. Se sabe mucho de como debe percibir el feto. Sonidos filtrados, sonido materno principalmente, vibraciones transmitidas y atenuadas para su protección...

La imágenes se han tomado del capítulo de National geographic: "En el seno materno".
Al feto le llegan sonidos del exterior: conversaciones, sonido de coches, las olas...Cómo los percibe e interpreta solo él lo sabe.

The lonely Mars Rover

A lot of to do in Mars for a lonely robot... Everybody knows that It is physicly unlikely to hear a sound in Mars atmosphere due to the lack of elements for conveying the pressure... So It is weird to hear robot sounds while it is working taking rock samples for furthering analysis... All the sounds that I have designed are MIDI sounds, the video is an edition from excerpts that are chosen from a great video about Mars Rover activity (see http://marsrovers . jpl . nasa . gov/home/index)

Ya sabemos que en el espacio exterior no hay elementos lo suficientemente próximos unos de otros como para transmitir ese pequeño frente de onda que llamamos sonido. Pero... ¿Cómo sería el mundo sonoro marciano? ¿Qué sonidos acompañarían la vida de este incansable trabajador en su discurrir por la enorme extensión del Planeta Rojo?

Las imágenes se han montado a partir de una recreación de la solitaria vida del robot Mars Rover, de exploración en Marte ( http://marsrover.nasa.gov/home).

Microscopic Chat

There are plenty of devices which let us see the smallest creature. Thanks to those inventions we all know how different kinds of microscopic "bugs" look like... But How about microscopic sounds? Let's listen to them in a personal recreation...

¿Cómo es el sonido en el mundo microscópico? Hemos alcanzado a ver la forma de vida diversa de lo muy pequeño gracias a ingeniosos mecanismos que aumentan el tamaño de la imagen, pero ¿Cómo seran sus sonidos? ¿Cómo serán los que oyen? ¿Cómo los que oímos que ellos emiten?

Clapping Phasing

This is an exercise to internalize a measure patern: 123 123 ... while playing an instrument, in this case we will work with clapping in two ways: soft (sordas) and hard (huecas) claps. We will pay attention not only on the correct performance but on the musicianship of the result as well. We will learn the initial pattern and then we will move the model slightly each 4 bars.

Este es un ejercicio para interiorizar un modelo de compás al mismo tiempo que tocamos un instrumento, en este caso las palmas en sus dos vertientes, sordas y huecas. Atenderemos no sólo a la correcta ejecución del conjunto, sino igualmente la musicalidad...
